Walcott: Wenger Respected Arteta's Leadership at Arsenal

Mikel Arteta has been Arsenal's most noteworthy manager since Arsene Wenger. Theo Walcott thinks the Spaniard was born to be a manager.

WHAT WALCOTT SAID

"The experience I had with Mikel Arteta as a player at Arsenal was the turning point for me in terms of how I viewed him," Walcott stated during an appearance on William Hill's Up Front with Simon Jordan.

"It occurred during a period in which we were not earning a spot in the top four." He isolated all the players in the dressing room as if he were the manager, even though we had a 30-minute training session scheduled. He assumed control of the entire area and informed us of its current state. At that moment, it was as though he was the superintendent, and that was the moment that changed my life. At that point, I began to believe that he had the potential to become a manager.

"Arsene Wenger was anticipating our arrival for training, but we could not participate due to Mikel's interruption of the session." His character was so formidable that even Arsene was terrorized by him.

Arteta assumed the role of Arsenal manager in the winter of 2019, following his departure from Manchester City as Pep Guardiola's assistant. After Unai Emery, the former coach of Paris Saint-Germain, failed to make an impact on the Gunners during his year and a half at the Emirates Stadium, he succeeded him. Arsenal secured the 2019-20 FA Cup and the FA Community Shield the following season under Arteta's leadership.

What is the future of Arteta?

The Spaniard, known for his work ethic, will diligently prepare his youthful team for the upcoming season to achieve the best possible pre-season and prepare for yet another title battle, with the ultimate goal of winning the league.
