Arsenal, Chelsea Vie for $77M Man City Star

According to sources, Arsenal is now vying with Chelsea and Atletico Madrid to sign Julian Alvarez, a striker for Manchester City.

Alvarez, who cost £14 million when he joined Man City in July 2022, has shown himself to be a fantastic acquisition.

In 103 games for City, the center striker has contributed 18 assists and 36 goals, helping Pep Guardiola's team win the FA Cup, Champions League, Premier League (twice), and other championships.

Alvarez played 54 games the previous season, tallying 19 goals and 13 assists.

That is an excellent record, but the Argentina player is upset that he won't start as City's starting number nine while Erling Haaland is at the Etihad.

Additionally, according to information provided by City writer Sam Lee on Thursday, the footballer and his family intend to relocate to a warmer nation soon.

The team that has been most frequently connected to Alvarez in recent months is Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone, their manager, thinks he would be a great addition to the Atleti forward line.

Additionally, the Spanish powerhouses need a new striker, given the recent loss of Spain captain Alvaro Morata to AC Milan.

According to the most recent reports from the Spanish press, the Premier League will present competition for Atleti in their pursuit of Alvarez.

Having previously been connected to the 24-year-old, Chelsea is still watching him, and Arsenal has recently stepped up their pursuit.

Alvarez can score at least 20 goals a season, link plays effectively, and has a ton of elite experience, so Mikel Arteta believes he is the "perfect" striker for Arsenal.

Despite his youth, Alvarez has already won numerous prestigious titles, including the World Cup, Copa America, Champions League, and Premier League.
