It was a dismal penalty shot loss for the Selecao to Marcelo Bielsa's team.
The Copa America quarterfinal against Uruguay was another significant tournament disappointment for Brazil, as they could have performed better in the attacking department. There was a 0-0 tie in regulation. The Seelcao was defeated 4-2 in the subsequent penalty shootout, and La Celeste advanced to the semifinals, where they will face James Rodriguez and Colombia.
The physical contest between the two teams was characterized by 41 combined fouls and a lack of attacking quality. Without Vinicius Jr., who was suspended, Brazil appeared devoid of ideas, as they only managed to capitalize on three total attempts on goal.
Uruguay had the most promising opportunities in the first half, with Darwin Nunez missing a free header from close range and witnessing another attempt deflected narrowly wide.
The game, which devolved into a chippy clash between two sides frantic not to lose, presented even fewer opportunities in the second.
The chances of Uruguay were impeded when Nahitan Nandez was issued a straight red card in the 74th minute for raking his cleats down the back of Rodrygo's leg. At some point, penalties were necessary to resolve the tally. In unremarkable circumstances, Brazil missed twice, while Uruguay made four of five to conclude a dismal game. However, they advanced one step closer to Copa America glory.

Defense & Goalkeeper Alisson (6/10):
Not tried on a regular basis. only needed to make one save, which she did with ease. during the shootout, stopped one penalty.
Danilo (6/10):
Excellent performance from the right-back. kept a problem alive and used good spatial control.
4/10 for Eder Militao:
won all of his ground fights and used good tracking. There was some awfulness in his departure, though. omitted his penalty.
Marquinhos (5/10):
followed the vivacious Nunez around, but with little success. after the Liverpool player was taken off, it appeared lot more at ease.
Guilherme Arana, a 6 out of 10:
put in a shift and made five interceptions against the vivacious Facundo Pellistri. sadly deficient in quality in the future, unfortunately.
Joao Gomes (5/10) in the midfield:
He sounded intent on clattering anything wearing blue for the game's duration. He finished a pitiful 73% of his passes.
Bruno Guimáes (7 out of 10):
One of the few to consistently guard the ball, willing to battle and get away with several fouls.
Lucas Paqueta (marks 5–10):
He barely had time to consider as they attempted to orchestrate from a No. 10 position. He held onto the ball for too long when given space to breathe.
found it difficult to have an effect in the first part. Much better in the second, causing havoc with Uruguay's defense.
Endrick (6/10):
Finally given a start. Clattered every time he touched the ball. Made some noise off some half chances.
had a few excellent opportunities in the first half, but his impact decreased later.
Too little time to matter. missed the penalty he was given.
