sporty360 has gathered that Chelsea players are still in the trenches with him despite Enzo Fernandez's text message apologies.
The 23-year-old posted an Instagram video of himself and his Argentina teammates earlier this week celebrating their Copa America final victory over Colombia by singing a song with racist and transphobic lyrics directed at French players of African origin.
After the viral video, Fernandez apologized, saying it didn't "reflect my beliefs or my character."
However, a few players are reportedly still offended by the video, and there are rumors that a face-to-face apology from Fernandez is necessary before things can get back on track.
Fernandez, who joined from Benfica in January 2023 for a British record sum of €112 million, will probably be fined and required to do a course on racism education.
In a social media post, Fernandez's Chelsea colleague Wesley Fofana criticized the "uninhibited racism" in the video. Following the video's internet release, he and several other Chelsea players unfollowed Fernandez on Instagram.
How did Chelsea players respond to the yelling on social media?
Last season's Burnley loanee David Datro Fofana seemed to take issue with the video on Instagram.
"The football that I like is multi-ethnic," he wrote. Racism ought to be firmly denounced in all of its manifestations. These behaviors have no place in football or any other sport. Everyone in this sport needs to take this struggle seriously.
Although it is acknowledged that Fernandez delivered a message to every player in Chelsea's first team, some players are still upset, and more needs to be done to support Fernandez's apologies.

The midfield player is on vacation but is expected back for pre-season training in two weeks.
"I want to sincerely apologize for a video posted on my Instagram channel during the national team celebrations," Fernandez wrote in an Instagram post. There is no justification for the highly unpleasant language used in the song.
I apologize for getting sucked into the excitement of our Copa America celebrations and declare my opposition to discrimination in all its manifestations. My views and character are not reflected in that video, time, or words. I sincerely apologize.
