Pierre van Hooijdonk, a former Dutch great, believes Felix Zwayer ought to be "blacklisted" for his role as an official during the Netherlands' devastating 2024 Euro loss to England.

On Wednesday, England defeated the Netherlands 2-1 to eliminate them from the competition.

Harry Kane leveled the score after Xavi Simons had opened with an incredible long-range goal.

After a contentious decision in which match referee Zwayer awarded a penalty after a VAR review, he converted the spot.

With a fantastic finish, Ollie Watkins secured a victory at the last minute.

However, Van Hooijdonk was left with a bitter taste in his mouth when Virgil van Dijk disclosed the actions of the German official full-time following Zwayer's decision.

In an extraordinary attack, Van Hooijdonk, who has earned 46 international appearances, criticized the Euro 2024 referee and asserted that he should be "blacklisted."

"Awful." Additionally, in the latter portion. This was a duel with Cody Gakpo, during which he merely blew his whistle once more, ten meters from the linesman.

"Those are moments that were crucial in this match."

In the aftermath of his team's humiliating elimination from the Euros, Van Dijk also directed his ire toward the officials.

"I don't know what I should say; I don't know if I should say something about this," said the individual.

"I stated this to our Dutch media outside; it is evident that the referee entered the stadium promptly following the game, and we could not extend a handshake."

"They consistently make numerous modifications, including minor adjustments that could have significant consequences."

"I suggest that they [the referees] come here and provide an explanation, as we [the players] are required to do when we commit an error." "I believe that could be quite interesting."

At the expense of the Netherlands, England advances to the next round of the tournament as they prepare to face Spain in the final on Sunday.
