Italian Club Lands Real Madrid Legend

 In recent years, some players have departed Real Madrid only to watch as their careers took a turn for the worse. During their tenure at Santiago Bernabeu, some were even regarded as the finest in the world.

 This is a tale that has been told countless times. Furthermore, it's reasonable to assume that it will continue to occur.

Not too long ago, many people regarded Raphael Varane as the greatest center-back in the world. He'd also had great success with Real Madrid and the French national squad.


Varane, though, has had difficulties since leaving Real Madrid. He suffered three lackluster seasons at Old Trafford after joining Manchester United in the summer of 2021, never living up to the high expectations placed on him.

He's just finished one of the most surprising plays in football history. According to the team's official website, Varane has signed a two-year contract with Como 1907, with an option to extend it.

This is a move that no one could have anticipated even half a year ago. 

Five years ago, Como played in the fourth tier of Italian football; only last season, they were in the second division.

Since then, the club has undoubtedly seen a spectacular ascent and has high goals. There are other mythical figures connected to the project besides Varane. Cesc Fabregas is their manager.

How Varane does in Italy is still to be seen. Despite his disappointing time at Manchester United, one would expect that there would have been no shortage of interest in signing him at thirty-one. 

Thus, many admirers were taken aback by the decision to join Como. However, the Italian side has a proven track record of success recently and an exciting initiative underway.
