Joao Felix Eyed for Premier League Return

Joao Felix may unexpectedly return to English football following a brief stint at Chelsea.

Sensational sources suggest Joao Felix may surprise everyone by returning to the Premier League.

Despite having a contract with Atletico Madrid through 2027, the Portugal international isn't staying with the team.

He has recently been loaned to Chelsea and Barcelona, where he played for the Blaugrana for the 2023–2024 season, making 44 appearances and scoring ten goals.

However, Felix might return to English football in the upcoming season, given the most recent updates on his situation.

According to The Guardian, Felix is reportedly a target for Aston Villa ahead of a thrilling Champions League campaign the following year.

The team led by Unai Emery qualified for Europe's top club competition after finishing fourth in the previous year.

The market has already seen much activity with the arrival of Ian Maatsen, Samuel Iling-Junior, Lewis Dobbin, Enzo Barrenechea, Ross Barkley, and Jaden Philogene.

Felix is the target of the West Midlands club, though, as Moussa Diaby is heading to Al Ittihad for £50.5 million.

Felix has a lot of adaptability, which Emery finds appealing. Atletico will almost probably suffer a significant loss on the record £114 million they paid to sign the 24-year-old in 2019. The amount needed to complete a deal for him has not been made public.

In the latter half of the 2022–2023 season, Felix spent a brief period on loan at Chelsea, but he has not yet reached his full potential in the Spanish capital.

Felix scored four goals in all competitions during his 20 appearances, for which the Blues spent £9.7 million.

Sporting director Rui Costa has stated that negotiations are taking place, and Felix's previous team, Benfica, is also involved.

"Talks are still in progress. According to Relevo, Costa stated, "They shouldn't be discussed in public."

"Good players are what we're looking for, and it helps to find players familiar with the area and Portuguese football.

"A lot of names have been mentioned, but right now, nothing is confirmed."
