Man United Closing In on Ugarte as PSG Talks Heat Up

Manuel Ugarte continues to be a significant target for Manchester United, and there is optimism that a deal will be finalized in the future, according to Sporty360.

The Paris Saint-Germain No.6 is considered a top target for the Red Devils, who are searching for a holding midfielder to partner with Kobbie Mainoo.

Some distance remains in terms of valuation. The Ligue 1 champions currently demand €70 million for the player they acquired from Sporting CP last year. However, Manchester United considers this to be excessive.

Despite reports to the contrary, PSG club sources have informed us that no offers or proposals have been made for Ugarte throughout the window. Conversely, we acknowledge that there is an expectation that an agreement will be reached at a reduced price later.

After being informed that he will receive limited game time under PSG coach Luis Enrique, Ugarte hopes to join the Old Trafford club. It is not anticipated that personal circumstances will be a concern.

In the interim, Fiorentina has not received any proposals regarding Sofyan Amrabat, who remains a potential midfield target. In addition to Adrien Rabiot of Juventus, another target is Morten Hjulmand, a midfielder for Sporting CP, as previously reported.

Man Utd is still in negotiations regarding the acquisitions of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui from Bayern Munich. The Premier League giants expect to facilitate the departure of Aaron Wan-Bissaka, well-liked by West Ham, to increase their financial resources.

The recruitment of Jarrad Branthwaite is the primary focus of Manchester United, and he continues to be a more desirable candidate than the Dutchman De Ligt. Sporty360 was the first to disclose that the 22-year-old verbally consented to a £150,000-per-week contract with the defender earlier this summer.

Vanderson of Monaco and Lutsharel Geertruida of Feyenoord are on Man Utd's list for the right-back position. However, Erik ten Hag indeed has his sights set on Mazraoui, and Bayern has agreed in principle to acquire the 26-year-old.

The defender, another player that the former Ajax coach believes would be a good fit in his tactical system, is expected to join for a fee of €20 million.

Rasmus Hojlund scored his first goal as the club's No.9 during Man Utd's 2024 tour of the United States. The team narrowly lost 2-1 to Arsenal over 90 minutes in Los Angeles and subsequently won the penalty shootout 4-3.
