Man United Renews Pursuit of Top Target After Deal Falls Through

According to Florian Plettenberg, the agreement between Bayern Munich and West Ham United regarding the transfer of Noussair Mazraoui has dissolved.

In addition, Mazraoui had personally reached an agreement with the Hammers. The aspirations of Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten to secure their preferred right-back have been dashed by agent demands.

According to Plettenberg earlier this week, Mazraoui was also the number one target for Manchester United in that position. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, the Congo DR international, has preferred Inter over a transfer to the Hammers.

David Ornstein has since confirmed that a deal is contingent upon his ability to offload him.

Nevertheless, given the unsuccessful transfer to West Ham, Manchester United is the sole candidate for Mazraoui.

Plettenberg, in fact, asserts that the Red Devils are dedicated to the Moroccan's arrival and are currently engaged in advanced discussions with him, as well as "pushing" for the transfer.

Erik ten Hag, acquainted with the defender from his time at Ajax, is eager to reconvene at Manchester United. The Amsterdam club featured Mazraoui in 137 matches, during which he scored 10 goals and provided 9 assists.

Florian Plettenberg previously disclosed that Bayern club management recognized that Mazraoui's proposed price of €30 million was unfeasible in the current market.

The southern Germans are anticipating a transfer fee of €20m to €25m; however, the "most realistic price" is reportedly €15m to €20m.

It is currently unknown what Ten Hag's club is prepared to pay for the wide defender. Matthijs de Ligt has been associated with Manchester United for an extended period, in addition to Mazraoui.

At Ajax, the central defender collaborated with Ten Hag, as did the Moroccan international.

However, the transfer fee remains a significant disparity between the two clubs: Bayern is requesting €50 million, while Manchester United's initial offer was €35 million.
