What Occured?

The teenage midfielder from Paris Saint-Germain, who scored a remarkable goal in the Euro 2024 semi-final against England, was on loan at RB Leipzig last season. He was one of the most talented players in the Bundesliga, which has piqued the interest of numerous prestigious organizations, including Bayern Munich and United.

According to The Sun, Simons' departure from PSG is expected to be initially on a loan basis with a mandatory purchase option. This strategy is partially the result of a substantial sell-on clause due to his former club, PSV Eindhoven, and is set to expire at the end of 2024. Simons was re-signed by PSG from PSV in 2023 for a nominal fee of £5 million ($6.5 million). However, he is now expected to demand approximately £70 million ($90 million).

Simons, who is 21 years old, is eager to participate in regular first-team matches, which has resulted in uncertainty regarding his destiny at PSG. Given the abundance of attacking options at his disposal and the prospective arrival of new talent this summer, manager Luis Enrique has yet to determine Simons' position in the squad. The midfielder will likely pursue a transfer from the Parc des Princes if Enrique cannot guarantee him minutes.
