Osimhen Agrees to Transfer, Unlocking Chelsea’s Summer

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, is prepared to finalize his long-awaited departure from the Serie A powerhouses in a transaction that might set Chelsea free in the summer transfer window.

The Blues had long been among the top contenders to recruit Osimhen, but Napoli's high demands for the Nigerian striker forced them to withdraw.

PSG is still in talks with them, but the Serie A powerhouses have clarified that they will not budge from the hitman's €130 million release clause. This has also prevented Arsenal and Manchester United from making an offer.

According to reports, Osimhen and the Ligue 1 winners have reached a personal agreement. He will agree to a five-year contract with Les Parisiens that would pay almost €14 million a season, but only if they can negotiate a lower price for the Nigerian striker.

Chelsea will gain from this since Napoli is anticipated to finalize a €25 million deal for Romelu Lukaku. This ought to free up Enzo Maresca's team to be more aggressive in the transfer window, maybe enabling them to bring in a second No. 9 to back up Nicolas Jackson.

The most recent report about Osimhen's move from Corriere dello Sport describes his current circumstances and the implications for Chelsea and Lukaku should he ultimately depart:

"Napoli and PSG are still in negotiations. During the most sensitive stage, they are in full flow, as PSG is eager to begin covering the void left by Kylian Mbappe's free move to Real Madrid. A center-forward with Osimhen's talent and goal-scoring ability takes a lot of work to come by in Europe.

"Those two teams are attempting to close the valuation difference. The now-famous €130 million clause in Osimhen's contract is a boundary Napoli is keen to stick to but also a barrier the French team wishes to weaken. PSG needs a break.

"Napoli will be able to finalize Romelu Lukaku's announced transfer to Chelsea if Osimhen is sold. Rom is eager to work with Antonio Conte again; therefore, the tale has already been written. While on vacation by himself, he is already getting ready.
