Arsenal Eyeing Pedro as Nketiah Exit Looms

Sporty360 has learned that Arsenal is interested in Brighton forward Joao Pedro.

This occurs in the context of a decline in the availability of alternative targets, including Benjamin Sesko, Nico Williams, and Eberechi Eze, who have either chosen to remain at their respective clubs or appear to be beyond the Premier League heavyweights' reach.

According to sources, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu Gaspar have engaged in discussions regarding the potential acquisition of Pedro.

Eddie Nketiah, who joined Arsenal at age 15, is on the brink of departing the Emirates for the French club Olympique Marseille.

The 25-year-old has agreed with the Ligue 1 team regarding his personal circumstances, and negotiations regarding a fee are underway. However, there is still a disparity in valuation.

Arsenal will only approve an exit at the appropriate price, as they do not believe they are under any obligation to sell, despite Nketiah's aspiration for consistent first-team participation.

Pedro is identified by Arsenal.

Arteta and Edu are discussing potential replacements for Nketiah, with Joao Pedro being one of them, as the Gunners' agreement to sign Mikel Merino is nearly complete.

Arsenal is seeking a young, high-potential player who is a good match in terms of character. The 22-year-old meets these criteria.

Joining his compatriots Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhaes, and Gabriel Martinelli, he is anticipated to seamlessly incorporate into the squad.

Nevertheless, it is uncertain whether Brighton will be amenable to permitting their star forward to depart at this late stage in the transfer window.

Arsenal's objective is to circumvent paying exorbitant sums, while Chairman Tony Bloom is anticipated to request a substantial fee.

According to sources, the Seagulls are willing to sell the promising Premier League prospect for £50 million (approximately €59 million) to generate a substantial profit on the Brazilian.

Pedro scored a remarkable 20 goals in all competitions and contributed three assists after completing a €34.2 million transfer from Watford to Brighton last summer.

Although he is predominantly a striker, he can play in a more withdrawn role and on the wing. It is widely recognized that Arteta is searching for recruits who possess versatility.

Pedro's inclusion would undoubtedly enhance Arsenal's offensive capabilities and assist them in undermining Liverpool and Manchester City's dominance in the Premier League.
