Arsenal Fend Off Ajax Bid for English Player

It is said that Arsenal turned down another offer from a fan of goalie Aaron Ramsdale. This time it came from Ajax.
Ramsdale was the precise number one at the Emirates Stadium for the first two years, but that quickly changed when David Raya arrived.

Mikel Arteta put Ramsdale on the bench when the team returned from the September break. He would only play 11 times in all categories in 2024–25.

He kept his spot in the England team for Euro 2024, but Ramsdale is well aware that things will have to change for him to stay in the Three Lions.

There have been many rumors that the 26-year-old wants to leave Arsenal, either permanently or temporarily.

However, Ramsdale has been left in limbo because his club has a 12-month option on his deal, and he has two years left on it.

David Ornstein of The Athletic says that Ramsdale has been put on the shortlist of Dutch giants Ajax.

It is said that Arsenal was offered the chance to loan Ramsdale to the Eredivisie team, but it is still being determined if there would be an option to buy.

Still, the North Londoners' officials quickly turned down the offer because it still needed to meet their requirements for a sale.

The story also says that Arsenal will let Ajax go for good if the price is right. Ajax hopes a deal can still happen later in the transfer window.

It was said before that they want at least £25 million for Ramsdale, partly because a replacement should probably be from the same country to help them meet squad registration rules.

Arsenal got the price they wanted for Emile Smith Rowe, who has since joined Fulham, even though they had to bargain hard. They need to be more flexible with other players, though.

Marseille reportedly stopped wanting Eddie Nketiah on Monday because Arsenal made them, and they have since moved on to signing someone else.

It makes sense for Arsenal to want to make as much money as possible, but there are only three weeks left in the transfer window, and angry players are likely to stay at the club.
