Barcelona Closing In on Olmo Deal

To finalize a transfer for Dani Olmo, the star of Euro 2024, Barcelona will face Leipzig in Germany on Tuesday.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Tuesday will be critical in determining whether Olmo will be transferred to Barcelona.

On Monday, Olmo and his agent arrived in Leipzig, and Barcelona's transfer coordinator, Deco, followed suit.

Olmo will be the subject of a significant meeting between the directors of both organizations. According to Romano, Barcelona intends to submit an updated proposal to negotiate an agreement.

Dani Olmo's €60 million release clause, which was widely publicized, expired on June 20. However, the Leipzig attacking midfielder is still offered for sale at a comparable price.

Following the failure of their attempt to acquire Nico Williams, Barcelona has designated Olmo as their primary objective for the forthcoming summer transfer window.

Williams appeared to be on the verge of joining Barcelona; however, according to numerous reports, he opted to remain with Athletic Bilbao.

Instead of Williams, Barcelona has pursued Olmo, a colleague of Williams in Spain, who is also attracting interest from the Premier League.

The RB Leipzig attacker was one of the most remarkable performers at Euro 2024, and the tournament in Germany once again demonstrated that the Spaniard is one of Europe's most underrated players.

Due to Pedri's injury, Olmo was not initially scheduled to appear for Spain and was only included in the squad.

The Euros were ultimately won by Spain, with seven wins out of seven, and he concluded as the joint-top scorer.

Last summer, Olmo had already expressed his willingness to leave Leipzig. However, on the brink of losing several crucial players, the Red Bulls persuaded him to extend his contract and remain for an additional season.

Olmo has verified that his agents are working on a potential exit, and Leipzig will not impede his progress this summer.

Olmo was raised in the Barcelona development system from 2007 to 2014 before transferring to Dinamo Zagreb at 16.

Before transferring to RB Leipzig in 2020, he scored 34 goals in 124 appearances.

He scored 29 goals in 148 games for Leipzig, and he scored 11 goals in 39 games for the Spanish national team.

Olmo emerged victorious in the 2022-23 Nations League and Euro 2024 alongside Spain.
