Barcelona wants to sign Chukwuemeka
Chelsea turned down AC Milan's offer to buy the player.
According to Sport, Barcelona wants to sign English player Chukwuemeka, 20, from Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Catalan giants are almost done making a deal for Spanish attacking midfielder Dani Olmo. However, manager Hansi Flick could still want to add another central midfielder to his team since Gavi, Pedri, and Frenkie de Jong have all been hurt recently.
AC Milan tried to move Chukwuemeka to the Blues earlier this summer, but the Premier League team turned down the offer because they didn't want to send the player on a short-term deal.
The young playmaker won't get enough chances to play under Enzo Maresca this season because the club has so many players. This could benefit Barcelona because the player could move to La Liga to play more games.
The young player who used to play for Aston Villa moved to Chelsea in the summer of 2022. He only played in 12 games across all divisions that season, but he scored twice and set up another goal.
Flick's team will start the 2024–25 season on August 17, when they play Valencia away from home in a league match.
