Barcelona Seal Deal for Nico Williams Alternative

According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona and Dani Olmo, an offensive midfielder for RB Leipzig, have officially agreed on personal terms.

The revelation that Nico Williams will stay at Athletic Club until at least 2025 has made the Spain international the Blaugrana's top goal.

Williams was initially Barca's first choice after his incredible 2023–24 season and outstanding performance at Euro 2024.

Nevertheless, despite interest from Barcelona, Arsenal, and Chelsea, sources from Spain indicate that he will remain at Athletic.

According to Romano, Hansi Flick's team quickly moved on to other targets and has already reached a personal agreement with Olmo.

It is said that the 26-year-old has accepted a contract offer that extends until 2030; therefore, Barca and RB Leipzig need to agree on a fee.

According to Romano, Barcelona's most recent offer includes a €55 million guaranteed fee and €4 million in "easy add-ons" and €3 million in "difficult add-ons."

Sporty360 reports that Olmo has also drawn interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United this summer, but neither team can sign the Spaniard.

Dani Olmo to Barcelona?

Olmo was instrumental in Spain's pursuit of a European Championship triumph in late July, and he scored nine goals and provided nine assists in 21 Bundesliga appearances last season.

The RB Leipzig player has the potential to become Barcelona's second summer signing, following the €2.7m acquisition of Pau Victor from Girona.

The Blaugrana have sold Marc Guiu, Estanis Pedrola, and Chadi Riad, while Sergino Dest, Marcos Alonso, and Sergi Roberto have departed on free transfers.

Olmo attended Barcelona's La Masia academy for seven years before departing the club in 2014 to join Dinamo Zagreb. The Spaniard relocated to Leipzig for a reported €29 million after spending six years in Croatia.

He has contributed 34 assists and scored 29 goals in 148 appearances across all competitions for the German top-flight team.
