Bayern Backs Out of Tah Deal

Despite an earlier agreement, Bayern Munich is no longer interested in signing Jonathan Tah, a Germany defender, and Bayer Leverkusen this summer.

Tah will not be signed by Bayern this summer.

The German national team defender was reportedly eager to make the move, and the Bavarian club was connected with a move for him for a long time.

He even decided against committing to a new deal with Leverkusen. Nevertheless, Kicker asserts that Bayern has lost interest in acquiring the player and that the agreement has been terminated.

BILD previously reported that the reigning Bundesliga champions had established a deadline for the transfer. If they did not receive an offer by the weekend, Tah would be obligated to remain at his current club.

Nevertheless, the transaction will not proceed as planned due to the opposition of a portion of the Bayern management.

The 28-year-old center-back, who has appeared in over 350 matches for Leverkusen since 2015, was a critical component of Xabi Alonso's team that earned the historic league title last season.

According to reports, the former Hamburger player has only one year remaining on his current contract and has declined to execute a contract.

Leverkusen may continue to pursue the sale of the player shortly, as they would prefer to prevent him from departing for free in 2025.
