Bellingham Praises Mbappe After Stellar Real Madrid Debut

 

Jude Bellingham was effusive in his admiration of Kylian Mbappe, and Mbappe proved on debut why Real Madrid had waited so long for him.

With a 2-0 victory over Atalanta in the Super Cup final, Real Madrid got the 2024–25 season off to a predictable start. 

Carlo Ancelotti's squad won their fourth championship of the year thanks to goals scored by Mbappe and Federico Valverde. 

Bellingham has spoken highly of Mbappe, his new teammate who signed with Los Blancos this summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired.

When asked about the summer's massive signing of Mbappe, Bellingham told reporters after the victory, "I think it shows the intent and the mentality of the team."

 You want to bring in a player like him the second you win the most significant reward. That type of signing is the very essence of Real Madrid.

He has been fantastic thus far as a teammate, and his performance today was impressive. All we want is to have fun learning each other's rhythms and, with any luck, to score more goals and provide assists.

It might be challenging sometimes, but playing with him and [Vinicius Jr.] is fantastic. They're both gone in the blink of an eye. 

After seeing him execute the feint, I gave him the area, and he dutifully finished the move. Seeing it up close is a delight.

"I think the coach trusts me to get a feel for positions," the Englishman said when asked about his plans to adjust to the new systems Ancelotti will implement after Mbappe's entrance to the team.

 I can go higher and assist with build-up as needed.

The coach can expect me to do everything he wants.

 While I can't promise that I will always be an integral part of the team's success, I also can't promise to consistently score goals or make goals. To me, that is of utmost importance.

Real Madrid's La Liga season will end on August 18 with a match against Mallorca, so the Los Blancos stars will only have a little time to revel in their Super Cup victory.
