Carragher Advocates for Late Liverpool Transfer

As the transfer deadline draws near, the rumor of Anthony Gordon to Liverpool keeps spreading.

The former Everton winger was rumored to be on his way back to Merseyside before the June profit and sustainability guidelines deadline.

Still, the Reds pulled out of negotiations due to Newcastle's asking price and their desire to include Jarell Quansah in a trade.

An alternative swap deal, with Joe Gomez going to St.James'' Park for £45 million and Gordon going the other way for £75 million, was later revealed; however, it never came to fruition.

As a result, rumors have circulated that Liverpool may try to buy the England international from Newcastle in the last days of the summer transfer season.

After rejecting Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi, the Reds' disappointing summer transfer window was widely reported. But club great Jamie Carragher is interested in a Gordon deal.

""The one involving Gomez and Anthony Gordon. During his interview with the Blood Red podcast, he stated,""I think that was maybe out of our hands, and that was more of a Newcastle transfer in terms of the PSR""
""That was a transfer I would have liked to have seen go through, and if there is still something in that between now and the end of the window, that is something I would be really interested in us doing, whether that is just Anthony Gordon or Joe Gomez being involved""

Tony Grant New York City Update on Gordon from Liverpool

Manager Eddie Howe will be ecstatic to hear that Gordon will remain at Newcastle this summer, given the looming deadline for a deal and Liverpool's depth at left wing.

He has shown remarkable improvement. Howe stated last week that the player has been occupied with his job,,, fitness, and everything about this football club.

I have faith he will be alright. Nothing we've discussed this summer has been contentious or nasty. He consistently embodies the legendary Anthony Gordon, who has poured his heart and soul into Newcastle. He plays a crucial role in our team.
