Carvajal Acknowledges Mbappe Threat Ahead of Potential Debut

While welcoming Kylian Mbappe to Santiago Bernabeu, Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal admitted that the Frenchman has caused him "suffer" in the past.

On Wednesday, Real Madrid will face Atalanta in the UEFA Super Cup in Warsaw, and Mbappe will most likely make his Real Madrid debut. 

Atalanta won the Europa League, and Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League in the past.

 While the 25-year-old was getting ready to make his La Liga debut, his new teammate Carvajal greeted him with open arms, confessing that the France captain had caused him "suffer" in the past.

Both teams have met many times recently, both in group play and in the Champions League knockout stages. Spain and France were set to meet in the Euro 2024 semi-finals, however Carvajal was ruled out of the match owing to a suspension.

During the press conference that preceded the match against Atalanta, the right full-back from Spain made the following statement: "I've suffered against him (Kylian Mbappe) in the past, and I'm sure he's going to help us a lot."

Next up for Carlo Ancelotti's squad is Sunday's La Liga opener against Mallorca, following Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup match.
