According to reports, Chelsea has been advised that they must complete a transaction for Joao Felix, the forward of Atletico Madrid, by the end of the upcoming week.
Over the past week, the Premier League and La Liga have been involved in a convoluted transfer situation as they endeavor to improve their conditions through financial fair play.
After the collapse of a deal that would have seen Samu Omorodion depart Atletico for Chelsea, Felix emerged as a viable alternative for the Blues.
In recent days, negotiations are alleged to have taken place, with Atletico seeking to recuperate a sum more significant than the £34.5m that they would have generated for Omorodion.
Meanwhile, the dispute concerning Conor Gallagher persists. The England international spent several days in Madrid before Chelsea requested that he return to England.
Atletico is anxious to resolve the matter.
According to reports, Diego Simeone has informed Gallagher that Atletico officials will make every effort to achieve a favorable outcome for the player, who has consented to transfer to Colchoneros.
However, for that to occur, Chelsea must provide the necessary funds to finalize a deal for Felix. A minimum fee of £50 million is needed to prevent Atletico from incurring a loss in amortization.
AS reports that Atletico officials must finalize both agreements by August 21.
The official unveiling of their other new signings is scheduled for that date, and they intend for Gallagher to be present.
It is uncertain how Chelsea will respond if they perceive that they are being forced into a corner amid already elevated tensions between the two organizations.
However, both clubs will benefit mutually, at least financially, if they can surmount the final obstacles in the coming days.
What has Maresca stated?
During his press conference on Friday, Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca was inevitably questioned about the situation. He acknowledged that Gallagher is not currently included in his plans.
According to the Italian: "He will not be involved in this game because he is trying to find a solution with the club, so we will see what happens."
He stated, "At this time, the club is aware of my thoughts regarding the requirements." He declined to provide any further commentary on Felix.
