Ben Chilwell reportedly wants to leave Chelsea after becoming angry with manager Enzo Maresca. This is the latest incident to rock the Chelsea locker room.
Angry at Maresca's previous remarks suggesting Chilwell had the quality to play left-back, the England star reportedly vented his frustrations to TeamTalk.
Chilwell is considering leaving because he feels unappreciated by the club's management.
After Luke Shaw's latest injury, Manchester United reportedly contemplates a move for Ashley Chilwell to address their left-back situation. Additionally, Man City has been mentioned.
What were Maresca's words?
Chilly, according to Maresca, is a left-back. "Things are becoming a little sensitive with Chilly.
Regarding a job, we're attempting to figure something out for him. He will likely require some time. I don't mean [his future with the club] but finding his optimal place.
Players that can give it their all in every game are what we're after.
For example, I have no doubt that Reece [James] and Malo [Gusto] can complete their tasks in the next two or three days and end up with more assists or be more dangerous than before.
Their quality is so high that they can make "last passes" or get assists when playing that position.
Chelsea has had no shortage of dressing room crises as of late.
An x-racist video of Enzo and some of his Argentine colleagues chanting a song insulting the French national team while celebrating their Copa America win shook Chelsea.
Several of Enzo's French and African teammates withdrew their social media followers, and Wesley Fofana publicly slammed the Argentine due to his behavior. Enzo had a lot of angry teammates at Chelsea.
Even though Enzo apologized publicly and privately, the public forgave him for his behavior, and the harmony in Chelsea's locker room is still up for debate.
In that respect, the Chilwell-Maresca conflict was counterproductive.
