Chelsea are purportedly signing Genk goalkeeper Mike Penders for €20 million (£17m/$22m). However, the teenager will not be joining the Blues until 2025.
The Blues have bolstered their goalkeeping squad with 19-year-old Penders just over a week after signing Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal for £21m ($25m). Fabrizio Romano has reported that the goalkeeper will join on a long-term contract for up to £17m. His next season will be spent at Genk, and he will return to Stamford Bridge in June.
The competition among Chelsea's goalkeepers is intense, as they currently have Jorgensen, Djordje Petrovic, Robert Sanchez, and Penders on their roster.

There may be an exit or two in that section of the stadium, as all of these stoppers are vying to be the club's first choice.
In 2018, Penders enrolled in Genk's academy and played 34 games for the club's reserve team, Jong Genk. He made his senior début at the beginning of the current Pro League season, starting both matches thus far.
The Belgian Pro League side will act against Club Brugge on Sunday afternoon. Penders will be eager to accumulate as much game time as possible this season before traveling to Stamford Bridge.
