Chelsea Legend Slams Club as 'Disgrace,' Predicts Title Drought

Antonio Conte was the manager of the Stamford Bridge team when they last achieved success in the Premier League in 2017.

Chelsea is currently preparing for the upcoming Premier League season under the leadership of new manager Enzo Maresca.

However, one of the club's most renowned players has gone so far as to assert that his former team will never again win the top-flight championship.

Mauricio Pochettino's departure has transformed the Stamford Bridge team's dugout over the summer.

Maresca has been recruited from Leicester City, where he successfully returned the Foxes to the top tier in his sole season as manager at the King Power Stadium.

The Italian will strive to enhance the Blues' sixth-place finish from the previous season, which finished without silverware.

Chelsea has experienced significant turnover in the squad, resulting in an active summer of arrivals and departures.

Renato Veiga, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, and Omari Kellyman have been secured from Leicester, Basel, and Aston Villa.

Tosin Adarabioyo has joined on a free transfer from his neighbors at Fulham. Additionally, left-back Caleb Wiley joined from Atlanta United, striker Marc Guiu arrived from Barcelona, and goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen most recently joined from Villarreal.

Defenders Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr have been released by Chelsea on free transfers. At the same time, Ian Maatsen, Hakim Ziyech, Omari Hutchinson, and Lewis Hall have been sold to generate transfer fees.

Conor Gallagher is also on the brink of departing after a discounted agreement with Atletico Madrid was reached.

Since being sold by Roman Abramovich in 2022, Chelsea has been under the stewardship of BlueCo and chairman Todd Boehly. Success was consistent during Abramovich's tenure.

However, Frank Leboeuf, a former Chelsea defender who played for the club from 1996 to 2001 and won the FA Cup twice, is not persuaded by the developments under the new ownership.

In fact, he has gone so far as to assert that Chelsea can forget about winning the Premier League title ever again if the club persists on the same path that has been observed in the past few seasons, despite the possibility of achieving cup success.

In an interview with Instant Casino, the Frenchman stated, "Some fans believe that Chelsea can begin anew next season, but it will not truly be a new beginning after spending a billion pounds."

"The club has the discretion to allocate their funds however they see fit; however, as a former player, I believe it is somewhat despicable to witness the current situation."

"Enzo Maresca's greatest challenge is the absence of reliable leaders or players, despite the presence of talent within the squad."

"Chelsea has the potential to win a cup, such as the FA Cup this season, but they have never won the Premier League." Certainly not.

"They will never win a Premier League title again if they continue to operate similarly; they require experience." It will simply not function."

The Premier League title was last won by Chelsea in 2017, during Antonio Conte's tenure as manager. The club will commence their top-tier season on August 18 when they host Manchester City, the reigning champions, at Stamford Bridge.
