Feyenoord, an Eredivisie club, has finalized the loan agreement for Brighton & Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman for the 2024-25 season.
The Seagulls announced in February that they have concluded a deal to acquire the 19-year-old from Danish club Nordsjaelland for a reputed £16m this summer.
Last month, Osman debuted with Brighton's first-team squad at the commencement of preseason, and the organization elected to dispatch the adolescent on loan to Feyenoord.
"Ibrahim has had a successful preseason with the squad," Brighton's technical director, David Weir, stated on the club's website.
"We face stiff competition in a wide range of areas, and Ibrahim's development would be significantly enhanced by his participation in regular senior football.
"This is an excellent opportunity for him to play at Feyenoord, and we will watch his progress as the season unfolds."
Osman is the ninth addition to the summer transfer window for Feyenoord and the second from the Premier League, following left-back Hugo Bueno, who joined on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Osman provides an explanation for his decision to join Feyenoord on a loan.
Osman articulated his decision to temporarily join Feyenoord this season on the club's official website, stating, "Feyenoord provides an opportunity for young players to develop."
"It is beneficial for my personal growth to engage in this activity and enhance certain aspects of my game." "I am eager to leverage my abilities to assist the team in achieving significant accomplishments in both the Eredivisie and Europe."
Osman was born in Ghana and began his professional career at the Right to Dream football academy, which has produced numerous notable figures recently, including Brighton winger Simon Adingra.
Osman, a two-cap Ghana international, joined Nordsjaelland in early 2023 and soon established himself in the Danish club's first team. He gained experience in the Danish Sueprliga and Europa Conference League.
Osman, adept at playing on either flank, appeared in 54 senior matches for Nordsjaelland across all competitions, contributing eight assists and scoring 10 goals.
Feyenoord's new No.38 may make his professional debut when the club travels to PEC Zwolle for their inaugural Eredivisie away encounter of the season on Sunday.
In the interim, Brighton has signed German attacker Brajan Gruda from Mainz 05 to a four-year contract, with an estimated value of £25 million.
