Burnley fans are furious after seeing a video of their old coach, Vincent Kompany, yelling at Johann Berg Gudmundsson.
The company helped Burnley get promoted to the Premier League for the 2023–24 season after they won the Championship the previous year.
Still, Burnley's time in the Premier League was short-lived; at the end of the last season, they were in danger of being cut down.
The Belgian player quickly left the club after getting an offer from German giants Bayern Munich.
A video from one of Burnley's practices last season was just released. It shows the boss yelling and swearing at attacking midfielder Gudmundsson.
The video on social media made fans very angry at the former Manchester City captain, and they showed their anger on X.
"W*nker, Kompany," a friend named Matt Snape wrote. He talked like this to Zirkzee and now to Gudmundsson, and the camera was on him the whole time. If the boss spoke to me like this in front of the rest of the team, I'd be out. I really hope he fails horribly."
Robbie Kirkham wrote on X, "Bad nob head Kompany doesn't understand the obsession with him very lucky to get that Bayern job."
A person with the handle Foz wrote, "Embarrassing." to describe the event. Kompany acts like he's someone else when I listen to him. It's like he's reading from a script. "Acting, not coaching, just for the cameras."
Lee, a fan, defended Gudmundsson while criticizing the former boss. He wrote, "JBG represents more of what this club stands for than Kompany ever did." "Go away, bad guy."
But some people spoke out in support of the Bayern manager. Gary Martin wrote, "And some people won't understand that is just normalcy." Everything is forgotten after training is over.
In his first pre-season friendly against a fourth-division team, the 38-year-old manager had a rough start as manager of the Bavarian club. They only achieved a 1-1 draw. But the team has returned strong, beating Tottenham Hotspur in back-to-back matches.
The Bundesliga giants will play their last preseason friendly on Tuesday against WSG Tirol. On Friday, they will play ULM in the first round of the DFB Pokal, their first official game of the 2024–25 season.
