Fabrizio Romano says that Liverpool is ready to do anything to get Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
Sporty360 first reported in February that Anfield was interested in signing Zubimendi.
Now that Arne Slot has taken over as manager from Jurgen Klopp, the Reds are lining up the Spain player for the Dutchman.
Romeo watched the news on his YouTube account and discussed what was happening.
He said, "Martin Zubimendi: Liverpool are on him."
"It would be a unique signing." He is the best player ever. His mind is different. We saw how good they were in the Champions League and with Spain's national team. His release option is €60m, which includes taxes, so the deal is pricey.
The Reds want to make this a big deal. They can either come to a deal with Real Sociedad or use the release clause. That means Liverpool is very hopeful. Getting to work on the player side now.
Liverpool wants to do well, whereas Arsenal and Barcelona failed.
Romano did say, though, that Liverpool would have difficulty getting Zubimendi to leave Real Sociedad, where he had played his whole career. After all, he was born in San Sebastian and has been with La Real since 2011.
"Between Barcelona, Bayern Munich, and Arsenal, many clubs have tried to persuade Zubimendi in the past few years." A lot of clubs have talked to the players.
At first, he wasn't excited about the move, but Liverpool is now going very big. "They're using their skills to get the player to agree to sign the contract," Romano said.
Zubimendi played a big role for Spain at Euro 2024. He put in a great performance in the middle of the field when he came on for a hurt Rodri at halftime in the final against England.
For Real Sociedad, he has been a key player for the last four years and is almost at 200 games for the La Liga team, setting the tone for their play from the middle of the field.
