Man United Bids for Defender Amid Shaw Injury

Manchester United is purportedly pursuing Fenerbahce defender Ferdi Kadioglu to surpass Brighton & Hove Albion in the pursuit of his signature.

Recently, there have been many rumors regarding the left-back's future.

Arsenal is believed to be intrigued, but it is thought that Brighton has been at the forefront of the competition for the Turkey international.

Kadioglu was in exceptional form for his country during the 2024 Euros, participating in every minute of his team's journey to the competition's quarterfinals.

The 24-year-old has been a member of Fenerbahce since July 2018, during which time he has made 203 appearances in all competitions, contributing 18 goals and 22 assists.

According to a recent report, Man United had negotiated with the defender's representatives regarding a potential transfer.

Even though the player is under contract until June 2026, Fenerbahce is believed to be amenable to a sale.

Kadioglu is the subject of a potential offer from Manchester United.
Sporx reports that Man United has submitted an official offer for the defender, which exceeds Brighton's initial offer in terms of the sum of money.

Nevertheless, the report asserts that Brighton's comprehensive package is more valuable, as the Seagulls are prepared to match Fenerbahce's terms regarding add-ons.

The two bids from the Premier League duo are reportedly anticipated to be rejected by Fenerbahce; however, negotiations are expected to persist.

The defender has already appeared on four occasions for his Turkish club this season, scoring once. However, he could not participate in the Champions League qualification match against Lille earlier this week due to a hamstring injury.

What is the reason for Manchester United's desire to acquire an additional left-back?

The Netherlands international Tyrell Malacia was sidelined for the duration of the previous season due to a severe knee injury, and it is uncertain when he will be able to return.

Meanwhile, Luke Shaw, Man United's number one left-back, is expected to require additional time off due to a calf issue.

Erik ten Hag, the head coach of the Red Devils, is believed to be in a hurry to secure a new player in that region of the field before the transfer window concludes, as there are concerns regarding Shaw's persistent muscular issues.

Nevertheless, Ten Hag has stated that Noussair Mazraoui, a right-back, can provide coverage in that position.

"I believe he is a player who is quite challenging to exert pressure on." This is particularly advantageous in the context of English football.

On Thursday, the manager of Manchester United stated, "There is always pressure on the ball, and this is a player who is very difficult to put under pressure because he finds solutions often."

Diogo Dalot can play on the left wing, for example, and we can resolve any issues there.

Mazraoui is a supplementary option for the position, provided that Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia are unavailable.

Additionally, it is purported that Man United has achieved a significant breakthrough in their negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain regarding acquiring central midfielder Manuel Ugarte.
