Man Utd, Arsenal Join Race for Tottenham Target

Tottenham is reportedly the first club in line to acquire an elite Serie A attacker this summer. Still, three other Premier League clubs are also in discussions with the Italy international.

Ange Postecoglou is still pursuing additional attacking recruits this summer, with a new No. 9 being the most prominent candidate on his mind.

This is due to the ongoing speculation that Richarlison may be considering a transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

The Tottenham manager has many wide options, including Son Heung-min, Dejan Kulusevski, Brennan Johnson, Timo Werner, and Manor Solomon. However, Son and Kulusevski were used centrally in the pre-season due to Richarlison's injury.

However, Spurs' pursuit of Juventus and Italy's Federico Chiesa, regarded as an exceptional player, is not impeded by their abundance of wingers. Chiesa is available for a nominal fee.

The report indicates that the agent is attempting to determine which of the individuals above, or an alternative individual, will present a tangible offer to the attacker.

Chiesa has been discussed as potentially leaving Juventus this summer, as he is currently in the final year of his contract, and negotiations with the club regarding an extension have not yielded any results.

Numerous reports from Italy have suggested that the Turin Titans are currently seeking a sale, and the player is in discussions with various interested parties, including some from England.

La Stampa further states that none of the Premier League clubs previously mentioned has submitted a genuine proposal to his client at this time.

Tottenham maintains its position at the head of the line.

Nevertheless, he is presently in discussions with the quartet, and Inter Milan is also interested in him. However, they do not have a Chiesa spot in their squad.

Tottenham is the clear choice, as they have been consistently linked for weeks. Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester United have other priorities that require attention, which makes their interest less likely.

In 37 appearances across all competitions for Juve last season, Chiesa contributed three assists and scored 10 goals. In 31 appearances, he was deployed as either a striker or a No.10.

Nevertheless, the 26-year-old is not quite the same player who captivated the world during the postponed Euro 2020 tournament, where he guided Italy to victory.

Although a relocation to England, specifically to north London, is gaining momentum, a change in scenery may alter this.
