Manchester United Interested in £24m Midfielder

 

Danilo, a midfielder for Nottingham Forest, is supposedly of interest to Manchester United, who have until the summer transfer window shuts to sign him.

Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui are the four new additions to Manchester United's roster that the club has acquired during the current transfer window.

But before the transfer window shuts, the 20-time English champions are said to be on the market for a new central midfielder, with Manuel Ugarte of Paris Saint-Germain being their primary priority.

United are exploring other possibilities this summer to finalize a deal for the Uruguayan international, as PSG is reportedly unwilling to lower their £51 million asking price.

Several midfielders have been linked with moves to the 20-time English champions, including Sander Berge of Burnley, Martin Zubimendi of Real Sociedad, and Frenkie de Jong of Barcelona.

Danilo, 23, of Forest, has reportedly also surfaced as a potential possibility, with the Reds reportedly prepared to let him depart this summer for the correct fee (TNS Sports).

According to the report, the Brazilian, who is reportedly also wanted by AC Milan (valued at €28 million, or £24 million) according to Transfermarkt), may depart before the transfer window ends.

After joining the City Ground from Palmeiras in January 2023, Danilo has played 49 matches for his current team, tallying six goals and six assists.

The midfielder saw action in 34 games across all competitions last season, tallying two goals and two assists in 29 Premier League games.
                                

Would Manchester United be wise to sign Danilo?
There has been much conjecture over Casemiro's future at Manchester United, but it appears probable that he will stay this summer. Scott McTominay is also expected to remain at Old Trafford.

However, the club is adamant about adding a second midfielder to Kobbie Mainoo's roster, and Danilo has proven himself worthy of the Premier League since his arrival from Brazil.

Man Utd needs a defensive specialist, yet Danilo has experience playing holding midfielder, central midfielder, and offensive midfielder for Forest.

The club reportedly still has faith in their ability to sign Ugarte before the transfer season closes, and he is still their top target.
