Mourinho Misses Fred as Fenerbahce Trails in UCL

 As Fenerbahce lost 2-1 to Lille in the Champions League, manager Jose Mourinho acknowledged that he missed Fred on the field.

In the first leg of their Champions League third-round qualifying match against Ligue 1 side Lille, the Turkish heavyweights lost 2-1 due to a late goal conceded. 

After the game, Portuguese manager Mourinho expressed his disappointment, saying that he missed former Manchester United player Fred, who was ineligible to play on Tuesday.

The 61-year-old added to reporters following the altercation, "I hate to admit it, but I miss Fred. He is a crucial member of our team. 

We were behind 2-1 at the end of the first half of the tie. It's time to head to Kadıköy while flying our navy blue and yellow flags.

After Mourinho took over as the team's new manager, the 31-year-old former Brazil international joined Fenerbahce from the Red Devils last summer and was reunited with his former coach earlier this summer. 

When Mourinho was the manager at Old Trafford, Fred moved from Shakhtar Donetsk to England.

The Turkish Super Lig team's next game is scheduled for August 11 in a league match against Adana Demirspor. Six days later, they will play Lille in the second leg at home.
