Napoli Renews Bid for Lukaku

It is said that Chelsea has received a new offer for Romelu Lukaku.

It has been unsuccessfully tried many times to sell the Belgium international since Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital became co-owners in May 2022.

They could save money because they had loan deals with Inter Milan and Roma, where the other teams paid a fee and took on the player's big salary.

However, Lukaku's contract only has two years left, so finding him a stable new home is even more important.

It is known that Napoli is very interested in the 31-year-old player. They see him as the perfect alternative for Victor Osimhen if they can eliminate their best striker.

People have known for a long time that Chelsea likes the Nigerian international, but it's still unclear if they have the money to make one of the biggest deals of the summer.

Again, Napoli tries to sign Lukaku.
Gianluca Di Marzio, an Italian journalist, says that Napoli is trying again to find an answer that works for everyone.

It is said in the story that the 2022–23 Italian champions have made an offer worth €25m (£21.4m) plus €5m (£4.28m) in extras.

Furthermore, Di Marzio says that Chelsea is not likely to accept the deal because the West Londoners want to get back €43m (£36.81m).

Fans of the player know that Chelsea can't afford to keep him on their books at this point in the transfer window, so that position could be seen as too ambitious.

Still, there must be a balance because Boehly and Clearlake don't want to lose money on the books. From an amortization point of view, Napoli's present offer would mean they fail.

Chelsea doesn't have much time left for the fire sale.
Some might say Chelsea still has three weeks to make the transfers they want, but time is running out to do things the way they want.

Lukaku and Kepa Arrizabalaga are two players from which club officials need to move on as soon as possible so they don't get stuck with trades.

Chelsea also only has four foreign loan spots left, and they won't want to use any of them to decide what will happen with the high-paid pair.

One unimportant player is almost sold to Strasbourg with a buy-back option instead of just leaving for a short time.
