Gonzalo Manna, the head of football at Napoli, says that striker Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club this summer because he wants to play for Chelsea.
Osimhen has been linked with a move away from Napoli all summer because Paris Saint-Germain was said to be very interested in him.
The price of the Nigerian player, though, made Les Parisiens quickly back out of the deal. They wanted to keep Randal Kolo Muani and Goncalo Ramos instead.
Chelsea has become a possible destination for the striker over the last few weeks, which is good news. It is said that Napoli and Chelsea have talked about a potential trade in which Romelu Lukaku would go the other way.
The Italian manager Antonio Conte wants to bring the Belgian player to Napoli. As Manna says, Osimhen could leave the Italian club as part of a swap deal.
At a press conference, Manna said, "Victor Osimhen has asked to leave the club." He needs to go. The facts are clear; there were already chances for him to leave in the summer. Victor would like to go away. In 20 days, we'll find out.
Roberto Calenda, Osimhen's lawyer, has turned down the idea of a swap or loan deal this season. However, because the scorer wants to leave Napoli as soon as possible, Chelsea may be able to force him to make the switch.
