Rennes has offered to sign Mikayil Faye, a 20-year-old center-back for Barcelona.
"Race open" to sign Faye Rennes; make €10 million offer
Several teams want to sign Faye from Barcelona, but Rennes of Ligue 1 tried to get there first by making a €10m (£8.6m/$11m) offer for the center-back. This is what Fabrizio Romano says; he also says that the French club's deal includes a sell-on clause of about 20–25%.
Barcelona also wants a buy-back option in the deal to keep control of Faye's future. The La Liga team thinks the Senegalese player, who played for Barcelona B last year, could still have a future at the Camp Nou.
Faye scored in his first game for Senegal, which was a friendly game against Gabon earlier this year. He hasn't played for the club on the big stage yet.
Romano says many teams are interested in the young defender, so he will leave Barcelona soon. If he does well elsewhere, the Blaugrana will use the release clause to get him back.
