Sancho Departure Could Open Door for United Target

Reportedly, United and PSG are nearing an agreement on a loan swap for Jadon Sancho, which might send Manuel Ugarte scurrying in the opposite direction to Old Trafford.

United have been pursuing Ugarte, a midfielder, for some time now, but talks have reportedly halted because PSG is supposedly refusing to lower their asking price of roughly £50 million.

Nevertheless, United may be able to recruit Ugarte thanks to PSG's interest in Sancho.

The Independent reports that Sancho is linked with a possible loan deal with an option to purchase from the French champions. Ugarte is reportedly considering a move in the opposite direction.

The England international reportedly wants to join Paris Saint-Germain. United would save around £250,000 per week in salaries if he left, which would greatly help them as they try to strengthen their roster before the summer transfer window shuts.

PSG 'advancing on the move' to acquire Sancho Sancho has reconciled with Man Utd head coach Erik ten Hag, and the attacker is now taking part in preseason training and made an appearance off the bench in Saturday's Community Shield match against Manchester City.

There have been rumors that PSG is hell-bent on signing the kid before the transfer window ends, but he remains linked with a move away from Manchester City.

After making a solid comeback to Borussia Dortmund on loan in January, Sancho stunned the French giants in last season's Champions League semi-finals.

The German heavyweights Dortmund wanted to re-sign the 24-year-old permanently this summer, but they and Manchester United couldn't agree on a transfer fee.

"Could sign" Ugarte as part of Sancho agreement
United has won the English title 20 times and is reportedly eyeing Ugarte as their top target in pursuing a specialist holding midfielder this summer.

The possibility of a swap deal is still in the air. Still, if Sancho were to join PSG, Manchester United would have a better chance of signing the Uruguayan international.

Ugarte is available for transfer, having only joined Paris from Sporting Lisbon last summer. He made 37 appearances for the French giants during the 2023-24 campaign.

This summer, Ten Hag's team strengthened their roster for the upcoming 2024–25 season by adding Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt, and Noussair Mazraoui.

The 20-time English champions are expected to welcome three new players to the starting lineup for Friday's Premier League match against Fulham: Zirkzee, De Ligt, and Mazraoui. Yoro will be sidelined until November with a fractured foot.
