Scholes Slams Man United Depth, Questions Ten Hag

Paul Scholes maintains that several issues at Old Trafford prevent him from being enthusiastic about Manchester United's forthcoming campaign.

When questioned about his expectations for United's forthcoming season under Erik ten Hag, Scholes gave many reasons why he finds it difficult to become excited.

In addition to thinking that the team is seriously lacking in quality, he has voiced his concern that Ten Hag would ultimately suffer the consequences and is dubious about Andre Onana's ability to play goalie.

Scholes has detailed the problems with the team's midfield, stating that they are "f*cking empty" in the position, in addition to his belief that the roster is subpar.

"I hear a lot of United fans saying they're excited for the new season, but I'm struggling to get excited," Scholes said in an interview with The Overlap.

A spot in the middle of the pitch is completely empty. Teams are barely getting past us."

"I still worry about the goalie; he's a big concern for me," he continued. I'm quite concerned about him after seeing him give up a few goals against Liverpool in the preseason."

Regarding Ten Hag, Scholes stated: "I'm worried about him." He needs to start off strong. It must be a huge improvement over the previous season.

I was relieved when they decided to stay with him because I enjoy continuity—we've had so many managers in the past, and it's absurd. However, you would prefer to see some improvement from the first season to the second.

However, things seemed to worsen.

This weekend, United takes on Manchester City in the Community Shield. On August 16, they will play their first Premier League game against Fulham.
