Erik ten Hag has said that Jadon Sancho will take more penalties for Manchester United, even though he didn't play in the Community Shield match against Manchester City.
United had already taken the lead through Alejandro Garnacho when Sancho came off the bench in the 83rd minute. But Sancho only made a difference in the game when he missed a crucial penalty kick for his team in the penalty shootout.
City won the trophy after Jonny Evans also missed in sudden death, which meant Ten Hag's team lost at Wembley, which was painful.
Sancho took out a loan to Dortmund last season, but the German team couldn't afford to bring the 24-year-old back to the club permanently, so he returned to United this summer.
Ten Hag said a "line had been drawn" with Sancho after a fight last season, which got the winger kicked off the first team.
"I had no doubts about him," Ten Hag said of Sancho after the loss. "He's great at taking penalties, but he missed today. That's the game." I'm sure he'll get in trouble again in the future."
Ten Hag said that Sancho could be used up front when Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee aren't available, so the English forward will likely play a lot for United in the coming weeks.
Even though Sancho made peace with Ten Hag, his future is still unclear because teams like Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain want to sign him this summer.
