Williams Wants Barcelona Move

According to reports, Barcelona has received an advantage in pursuing Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams.

Hansi Flick's attacking capabilities were recently enhanced by the €60m (£51m) acquisition of Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig by the Blaugrana.

After obtaining Olmo's signature, Barcelona appears to be preparing to concentrate on signing his Spain teammate, Williams.

The 22-year-old has been associated with the Catalan Titans for most of the summer transfer window. However, it was recently reported that Williams was considering remaining with Athletic for at least one additional season.

Nevertheless, Barcelona is resolute in its pursuit of Williams and is continuing to make a drive to secure his services before the transfer window closes on August 30.

The Barcelona decision is made by Williams.
Williams' Athletic contract contains a €55m (£47m) release clause, and it is evident that he is prepared to depart the Basque club before the transfer deadline.

As reported by Sport, Williams has informed Barcelona that he intends to finalize a transfer to the Catalan champions this summer.

Barcelona is reportedly confident that they will sign Williams and are optimistic they can finalize the agreement within the next week, according to the report.

However, Barcelona must secure the requisite funds to finalize Williams's transfer while adhering to La Liga's stringent financial fair play regulations.

The Blaugrana are expected to sell Julian Araujo to Bournemouth, and Clement Lenglet, Mikayil Faye, and Vitor Roque may also be transferred.

Barcelona is eager to reconcile Williams with Yamal.
Barcelona is resolute in its pursuit of reuniting Williams and Lamine Yamal, who were instrumental in Spain's Euro 2024 triumph.

In Germany, Yamal operated from the right flank, while Spain's manager, Luis de la Fuente, employed Williams on the left flank.

During Spain's successful campaign, Williams contributed one assist and scored two goals, extending his success at the club level to the international stage.

The winger contributed 19 assists and eight goals in 37 appearances for Athletic last season, assisting Ernesto Valverde's team in winning the Copa del Rey and finishing fifth in La Liga.
