Antony’s troubled spell at Manchester United could soon come to an end, as Jose Mourinho is reportedly keen on bringing the winger to Fenerbahce on loan.
Since his high-profile transfer from Ajax in the summer of 2022, where United spent an eye-watering £85 million (€100m/$112m), Antony has struggled to hit his stride. Over the course of two years, the Brazilian has made 82 appearances in all competitions for the Red Devils, but with only 12 goals and five assists to his name, he has not lived up to expectations. This season has been particularly difficult, with Antony managing just a solitary minute on the pitch in the 2024-25 campaign.
However, his fortunes could change as Turkish Super Lig giants Fenerbahce, now managed by former United boss Jose Mourinho, have expressed interest in signing the 24-year-old on loan, according to reports from fotoMac. With the Turkish transfer window open until September 13, Fenerbahce are allegedly aiming to finalise the deal by Wednesday night.
Mourinho, who took the reins at Fenerbahce this summer, is eager to reinforce his squad and sees Antony as a valuable addition. Alongside the Brazilian, the club is also rumored to be pursuing Chelsea's out-of-favor left-back Ben Chilwell.
It remains to be seen if Antony will secure a move to Turkey before the transfer window closes. Fenerbahce are set to face Kasimpasa on September 15, while Manchester United will take on Southampton the day before.
