Galatasaray have officially secured the loan signing of Victor Osimhen from Napoli, with the Turkish club confirming that no loan fee was paid to the Serie A side. Instead, Galatasaray will cover the striker’s salary, set at €6 million per season (£5m/$6.6m).
Before departing Italy, Osimhen inked a contract extension with Napoli, prolonging his stay at the club until June 30, 2027. In a statement, Napoli disclosed: "SSC Napoli announces that it has temporarily transferred the sporting performances of footballer Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray until June 30, 2025. Simultaneously, the Club has reached an agreement with the player, giving the club an option to extend the contract until June 30, 2027."
Galatasaray's official statement echoed the terms of the deal, reading: "An agreement has been reached with professional footballer Victor James Osimhen and his club SSC Napoli SPA for the temporary transfer of the player, free of charge. The football player will be paid a net seasonal salary of €6 million for the 2024-2025 season."
Osimhen's move comes after a turbulent period under Napoli's manager, Antonio Conte, who excluded him from the first-team squad following a failed transfer to Saudi Arabia's Al-Ahli on the deadline day. The Nigerian forward is expected to make his debut for the 2024-25 campaign when Galatasaray faces Rizespor on September 14 in a Turkish Super Lig fixture.
